Bodhi School — for children from age 2 to high school

The goal of Bodhi School is to provide a gentle, safe and uplifted environment for children and parents to explore their heart and mind, learn to respect one another and develop confidence in basic goodness of all. Bodhi School is inspired by the view of Saykong’s vision of an enlightened society. There are 3 groups for the children:
Lions & Tigers (age 2 through kindergarten)
Garudas (grades 1-5)
Dragons (grades 6-12)

Parenting as Path Discussion Group

During Bodhi School, parents are welcome to join in this on-going discussion group. The discussion topics explore what mindful, loving, parenting is and ways to apply the principles of mindfulness and Shambhala culture in relating with one’s children.

The schedule each Sunday is as follows

9:30 a.m. – Registration
10:00 a.m. – Assembly in the Shrine Room — songs, stories, etc. with all ages together
10:30 a.m. to 12 noon – Bodhi School for Tiger/Lions (age 2 to kindergarten), Garudas (grades 1-5) and Dragons (grades 6-12)
10:30 a.m. to 12 noon – Parenting As Path discussion group
12 noon – Potluck Lunch

For each Sunday, there is a requested donation of $5 per Bodhi School participant, or $10 per family, or pay what you can afford.

Please note there will no formal sitting or individual meditation instruction on this day.
