Taste of Shambhala: An Open House & Community Gathering

Every Thursday evening.

Our weekly Taste of Shambhala open house is a perfect introduction to the Shambhala Buddhist teachings and an opportunity to connect with other practitioners. It begins with a light meal, followed by group meditation practice and a talk by a local or visiting teacher.

6:00 – 6:30 PM | Light, Wholesome Dinner | $5-10 donation appreciated

6:30 – 7:15 PM | Group Meditation Practice | Free

7:15 – 8:00 PM | Dharma Talk and Discussion | Free

Followed by socializing in the Community Room.

* Free meditation instruction is also available from 6:30 – 7:15 PM.

** One week per month, instead of regular sitting and a dharma talk, we will have our Monthly Community Shambhala Sadhana practice. This is a family and kid-friendly event! The upcoming dates for these special evenings are: March 29, April 24, May 31, June 28, July 26 and August 23. Please check the listing for this event under our Upcoming Programs page.

Everyone is welcome to come and you may leave or arrive at any point in the evening.

Society does not simply run on greed and aggression, but on an invisible network of love and goodwill. It is within this context that my father considered the simple act of sharing a meal and conversing to be the most advanced spiritual training. As we eat and talk, we relax our senses and touch the goodness that is omnipresent. This underlying force is the beating heart of humanity, and in this heart lies our future.
