Laura Cain and Thom Stromer’s new Feature Documentary -  “Walking Thru Bullets” -immerses the viewer into the day-to-day workload of a trauma-informed violence intervention program based in Philadelphia. The program is called “Healing Hurt People” (HHP).

HHP provides support to young men who have experienced violent interpersonal trauma. The Documentary follows 4 clients, over 4 years, as they heal and grow after surviving nearly fatal injuries to the body, mind, and spirit.

The film provides a counter narrative to the stereotype seen on nightly news regarding young men of color. HHP helps their clients, learn new ways to express themselves and build confidence in their Basic Goodness while charting new life trajectories.

“Walking Thru Bullets” is still in the finishing stages.  This will be a test screening that will help the inform filmmakers before making final edits, adding music, mixing audio, and adding color correction.   Thom Stromer will start a conversation after the screening to discuss anything relating to the film or the issues that the film addresses.
