BSMC Leadership Collective Meeting (Open)

November 3rd

Date details +
    Room: Main Shrine Room

You are invited to participate in launching the Leadership Collective, a process of participatory governance at BSMC. The purpose is to uphold the view of basic goodness and awake society, articulate our center’s mission, join center initiatives with the view and mission, and make decisions concerning center direction.

We will do this by participating in a leadership practice that blends elements of a Quaker Meeting, Social Meditation and the best ingredients of the traditional Shambhala Governing Council model. Monthly meetings are open. Everyone is invited to practice leadership (warriorship) together.

The first meeting of the Leadership Collective will be divided into two parts.  In the first hour, we will introduce the view, meditation and action of the Leadership Collective.

In the second hour, we will engage in practice around the following task (a follow-up to the 7/20 Community meeting):  Defining our identity/mission as a Shambhala Center in the current reality. What does this mean?  How do we manifest?

For those of you who have been waiting forever for this day, we are hereby empowering ourselves to make decisions and move forward.
