Shambhala trains us to engage our everyday life in the world with the same open, soft vulnerability we have discovered and cultivated privately in our meditation. This approach – scary, daring, and gentle – thwarts defensiveness and aggression and is the essence of Shambhala warriorship. It’s how we gain confidence in our own basic goodness and help others experience theirs. Together we transform moments driven by fear into moments of mutual courage, kindness, and wisdom.

Join us for a six week course that will introduce you to the Shambhala teachings and practices of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, one of the most influential Buddhist teachers in the West. He offered a secular path of meditation that is open to people of any spiritual tradition or none at all.

This course will be taught by Chris Kreeger, a senior teacher who has taught meditation, Shambhala, and Buddhism for over 30 years. The course will take place in Chris’ home in Baltimore, affording an intimate gathering where participants can connect with people similarly interested in meditation and develop a supportive, ongoing community of friendship.

The course will be held over six consecutive Tuesday weeknights from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting October 10. Sessions will include meditation instruction, Shambhala path teachings, and discussions. The course also includes a full day of sitting and walking meditation practice on Saturday, November 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as experienced meditators who want to deepen their practice and understanding; prior Shambhala program attendance is not required.

Because Chris’ living room can only accommodate 10 people, we recommend registering early to secure your spot. To get the most out of this program, we ask that participants make a personal commitment to attend conscientiously as best they can. This helps create a supportive environment for everyone and provide necessary continuity.
