Nyinthün Meditation Retreat & Community Meeting
This month’s nyinthün meditation retreat will be combined with a community meeting, as we continue our efforts to chart a new path forward as a community.
These efforts began at a community meeting on October 26th, when we met to discuss what we long for in community and what inspires us as a sangha. In the weeks following, participants were asked to meet in small groups to discuss how we can foster a greater sense of belonging and engagement among all in our community.
Our gathering on December 7th will begin with an hour of meditation instruction and practice and then shift to an exploration of who and how we wish to be as a community and what forms and activities might grow from that vision. While there will be an option to join the meeting by Zoom, we strongly encourage all who are local to join us in person. We also encourage all who wish to be part of co-creating our emerging community to attend, whether or not you were part of the October 26th meeting.
A potluck lunch will follow the morning’s community meeting (please bring a dish to share!), offering a time to connect informally. A tentative schedule for the day is below:
8:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. | Coffee, tea, and taking our seats |
9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. | Welcome and opening remarks; meditation practice |
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. | Large and small group discussion |
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. | Potluck lunch (please bring a dish to share!) |
1:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. | Clean-up |
